No previous bookbinding experience needed
We guide beginners, designers, and the curious through every stage of the craft, providing all necessary materials from specialized papers to traditional binding frames.
Small groups and a cozy, creative atmosphere
Limited groups foster a natural exchange of ideas and quiet conversation, complemented by a selection of artisanal drinks and sweets prepared by Aziza.
Available in Italian, English and French
Gaia and Zawyati lead these three-hour sessions from Monday to Saturday, between 10:30–13:30 and 14:00–17:00, ensuring a seamless and international creative experience.

Pick your workshop based on the craft you wish to explore: the technical precision of hand-stitching or the artistic flow of cover design. In both sessions, we will create a unique travel companion inspired by traditional Moroccan patterns.
Bookbind Your Travel Journal
This session is dedicated to traditional bookbinding. You will master the use of needle and thread to stitch the spine, learning the technical skills required to create a sturdy, professional-grade journal.
Leporello, The Boundless Travel Diary
A continuous accordion-fold book that opens into one long, flowing strip. This session prioritizes artistic expression and cover design with personalized inserts featuring your initials or a custom design stitched directly onto the paper.

Since 2018, my travels through Eastern Europe and North Africa have shaped a portfolio rich in patterns and traditions.
I partner with brands and cultural institutions to tell their stories through bespoke maps, illustrated identities, and visual storytelling.
My work is rooted in a 50-year family legacy of printing and bookbinding, blending contemporary illustration with ancient techniques to create premium, tactile products.

Discover the materials
Select from a curated collection of papers, bookmarks, and bookcloth to customize every detail of your Travel Journal.
Prepare the Workspace
Organize the workbench and observe a brief demonstration of traditional techniques before diving straight into the craft.
Binding & Assembly
Prepare the paper signatures and stitch them by hand on the frame. The process concludes by creating a bespoke cover, customized with your choice of traditional Moroccan patterns and handmade marbled papers.

The space that will host us
We will meet at Zawyati, a socio-economic development project based in Zaouia El Abassia. Their mission is to create training and employment opportunities for local youth through arts and crafts.
By participating, you directly contribute to the community: 20% of your fee goes toward supporting these initiatives.
